The high paramo around Quilotoa are an undiscovered treasure
that have maintained a character which is distinctly Andean and
indigenous.
We propose you to discover this area during 2 days walking at the
encounter of this indigenous people.
We'll finish this great trip visiting the Cotopaxi National park
walking at 4800 meters alt.

- Chugcilan - Walk around the village -
Departure from Quito in private vehicle towards Chugcilan’s
village. Lunch at Chugcilan. Walk around the village.
Dinner and night in lodging at Chugchilan. |

Day 2 |

|
Quilotoa
lake - Hike from Quilotoa to Chugcilan

Breakfast.
Departure towards the Quilotoa ‘s lake. Walk from
Quilotoa to Chugcilan. Box lunch during the walk.
Departure to Lasso, little village near the Cotopaxi Volcano.
Dinner and night lodging at Lasso. |

Day 3 |

Cotopaxi
National Park - Quito -
Early breakfast. Departure towards the National Park of
Cotopaxi. Drive up to 4500 meters of altitude and then by
foot ( 300 meters ) to Jose Ribas refuge (4800 m).
Picnic at the refuge. Walk near the glacier. Visit of the
Park's museum and back to Quito at the end of the afternoon.
An other option will be if the Day 3 is a Saturday, to visit the
Typical Indian Market of Zumbahua. In this case, the trip
will finish like this:
Day 2 :
Dinner and night lodging at Chugchilan.
Day 3 : Breakfast. Departure to Zumbahua and Visit of the
typical Market of Zumbahua. Typical lunch. Back to Quito
crossing beautiful Andean surroundings. |
