Trekking in Cotopaxi National Park

You will discover this marvelous National Park surrounded by the beautiful and highest active volcano, the Cotopaxi (5897 m).

Day 1			Quito - Cotopaxi National Park - Refuge - Walk Departure from Quito at 8 am towards the National Park of Cotopaxi. Drive up to 4600 m, and then on foot to Jose Riba's refuge ( 4800 meters ). Walk near the glacier and go down to our first campsite located at 3800 meters of altitude (6 hours walk ). Picnic on the way. Dinner and night under tents.

Day 2			Climbing of Rumiñahui's peak (The Central) After breakfast, ascension to the central peak of Ruminahui's mountain (4640 meters of altitude and 6 hours walk). Panoramic view on the Cotopaxi National Park. Picnic on the way. Dinner and night under tents.

Day 3			Cotopaxi National Park - Quito After breakfast, a 5 or 6 hours walk towards the Limpipungo lake and the pre Inca site of Salitre. (4100 meters of altitude and 6 hours walk). Picnic on the way. Back to Quito in private vehicle.
